Giovanni
Born in 1982 in Italy, Giovanni began studying classical guitar at 10 years old and electric at 14.
He spent his formative years as a heavy metal guitarist and, in addition, he joined an early music ensemble in 1996 and started to learn the lute.
With this project he had his first concert experiences, like Lecce theatre in 1997, Jerusalem in 2000 and New York in 2002.

He joined the Università Della Musica in Rome at the age of 19 to learn other kinds of music such as Blues, Funk, and Jazz. Giovanni had the opportunity to study with, and attend clinics and masterclasses, with many famous professional Italian and international musicians, from Dream Theater’s John Petrucci to Banco Del Mutuo Soccorso’s Rodolfo Maltese.
Upon his graduation, he continued his studies privately, focusing on Latin, bossa nova, manouche but also Renaissance and Baroque music.
He moved to Tokyo, and in 2016 he started his teaching career at The American Guitar Academy in Tokyo and Yokohama.

In 2016 he joined the international project Slugger Punch, and with them he produced original songs and collaborations.
In 2017, for Slugger Punch and Star Comics, he wrote the original music for the advertisement of Dragon Ball Super and Ninjak, and the original music for the Demon Slayer’s Italian trailer in 2021.

In 2022, he met the Japanese violinist Yukako Furudate, awarded Hungarian and Russian gypsy violin master, who introduced him to Eastern European music.
Yukako and Giovanni started several projects, like "Yuka & Giovanni Gypsy Duo", "Gypsy Ladies", the music chamber trio with the Hungarian cello legend Károly Kovács, but also collaborations with opera and operetta singers and orchestras, dancers and more.
